The housing crisis is growing, and rough sleeping is just the tip of the iceberg. Over 4,000 people sleep on the street in the UK on any given night. Over 85,000 households live in temporary accommodation lacking a decent, permanent home.
Millions of people are at risk of homelessness, are denied a safe home, or are threatened with losing it. Shelter’s services exist to help those in immediate need, while their campaigning aims to tackle the root causes of the housing crisis to achieve their vision of a home for everyone.
