Our multifunctional cast iron bricks celebrate London landmarks built using a combination of these two historical materials.
This brick represents the stock brick and cast iron Victorian wall box on Elm Row in Hampstead Heath; where the two materials sit side by side to form one of London’s most unique items of street furniture. When designing this brick, we took great care to match the ‘Royal Mail red’ post box colour reference, first used in London in 1874 to make them easier to spot on the street. Post boxes also carry the insignia, or cipher, of the monarch reigning at the time of placement, an interesting parallel with the year engraved on the reverse of each limited edition brick.
Sand cast in East London by the family-run foundry, James Hoyle & Son, which was established in 1880 and encompasses age-old traditional casting methods that have been handed down from generation to generation.
Sprayed & engraved in North London by Furnells who have forty years of experience in specialist engraving with a reputation in the capital for superb craftsmanship.
